Refund Policy

A clear refund policy for one-time citation-verification packages.

Last updated: August 6, 2026

1. Overview

This policy applies to one-time citation-verification packages purchased through CheckReference. Paddle acts as the merchant of record and processes the payment. This policy is in addition to Paddle's refund process and any refund, withdrawal, cooling-off, or other consumer rights that cannot be limited under applicable law.

2. Refund request window

You may submit a refund request within 14 calendar days after a purchase. A request is reviewed under this policy, Paddle's process, and applicable consumer law; submitting a request does not by itself guarantee a full refund.

We may approve a full or proportional refund where appropriate. Any citation checks covered by an approved refund may be removed from the account, including after they have already been used.

3. One-time verification packages

Citation-check packages are delivered as one-time account entitlements and are normally non-refundable after delivery, except where this policy or applicable law provides a remedy. Complimentary checks have no cash value and are not refundable.

4. Duplicate, unauthorized, or incorrect charges

Contact us promptly if you believe a charge is duplicated, unauthorized, or different from the amount confirmed at checkout. We will investigate with the payment provider. Confirmed duplicate or incorrect charges will be refunded. An unauthorized-payment claim may require identity or account verification and may also be handled through your payment provider or card issuer.

5. Technical failure

If a material technical problem attributable to the Service prevents you from using a paid feature and we cannot restore the feature within a reasonable period after you report it, we will offer an appropriate replacement, credit, full refund, or proportional refund. Temporary maintenance, a third-party scholarly database returning no match, or a result you disagree with is not by itself a technical failure.

6. Normally non-refundable situations

Except where law requires otherwise, refunds are not normally provided when:

  • the applicable request period has expired;
  • the purchased citation checks have already been materially consumed;
  • the purchase was made through another seller whose own refund process applies;
  • access was suspended for material abuse, fraud, chargeback misuse, or violation of the Terms of Service; or
  • the request is based only on a citation being uncertain or not found.

Verification results are evidence aids, not guarantees or academic-misconduct judgments. Database coverage limitations are explained in theTerms of Service.

7. How to request a refund

Submit the request from your Paddle receipt or throughpaddle.net. You may also email fadedfate54@gmail.com with the account email used for the purchase, the transaction or receipt identifier, purchase date, and a short description. Do not send a complete card number, password, or authentication secret.

Approved refunds are returned through the original payment method underPaddle's Refund Policyand applicable consumer law. Paddle and the financial institution control the time needed for the refund to appear. Refunded citation checks may be removed when approved.

8. Policy changes

We may update this policy for future purchases. The policy displayed when an order is placed will continue to govern that order unless a later version is more favorable or applicable law requires otherwise.
